Making an Application

Vacancies rarely occur. However, we are happy to hear from you and discuss any aspects of your care requirements and consider whether we could offer support in any way. Applications are usually made with the support and backing of your local authority. They will complete a community care assessment, which we require prior to any new admission. However, prior to admission we spend time ‘getting to know each other’. You will be invited to visit and view our facilities and the resident will be invited to come for tea and see how he/she gets on with the others living in the home. A small sample of what life is like at home helps to prepare the way. We are also happy to offer an overnight or a weekend stay prior to admission. However, we acknowledge that everyone is different and therefore we don't have a set formula, rather we approach this major life change with sensitivity and flexibility according to the individual's needs. Please do get in touch with any queries you may have.

Staffing

Our management team and staff are carefully selected and trained.  We are Equal Opportunities Employer and are interested in hearing from anyone that enjoys working with people that have a learning disability and are motivated and committed to providing a high level of care and support to the residents. We offer basic induction and foundation to all our staff and we support staff to continue their training to NVQ level 4.

Applying for a Job

We generally enjoy a stable staff team; however vacancies do occur from time to time so please get in touch for a chat and an application form.

The Params is registered for thirteen adults with learning disabilities and provides staff support around the clock. We currently have two vacancies as a result of two recent deaths.

Residents

We have no fixed range of abilities or needs here, preferring that new residents are assessed for their suitability by personality and ability to mix with the existing residents. Whatever the individual’s needs are we hope that we will be able to address those needs. However, we do not cater for people with severe challenging behaviour. We hope to provide a home for life or until the needs are resolved.
